Civic Campus Project One Step Closer After Commissioners Give Approval

Greeley-Evans School District 6 will continue to consider replacing its Administration Building after the Weld County Commissioners on Monday morning unanimously approved the construction of a new judicial complex and administration offices in Downtown Greeley.

District 6, Weld County and the City of Greeley have been working collaboratively over the past year on a plan to swap land holdings and join together to replace and construct new governmental complexes and buildings in downtown Greeley. This joint Civic Campus project will include a new Judicial Complex, District 6 Administration Building, and a new Greeley City Hall and city offices. Each entity will fund the design and construction of their own buildings and continue to work collaboratively. 

The District 6 Administration Building was constructed in 1958 as a bank and has been recommended for replacement by architects and engineers due to the high cost of replacing aging systems in the building. The District has leased an additional building across the street for its Family Center and Admission office, and this would allow all services to be brought under one roof, streamlining the efficiency of central office operations.

The District Board of Education was updated on this project in a spring work session and will further consider this proposal at its August 11, 2025 meeting, to be held at 6 p.m. at the District Administration Building, 1025 9th Avenue, in Greeley.

Este proyecto conjunto del Campus Cívico incluirá un nuevo Complejo Judicial, el Edificio Administrativo del Distrito 6, así como un nuevo Ayuntamiento de Greeley y oficinas municipales. Cada entidad financiará el diseño y la construcción de sus propios edificios y continuará trabajando de manera colaborativa. 

El Edificio Administrativo del Distrito 6 fue construido en 1958 como un banco y ha sido recomendado para su reemplazo por arquitectos e ingenieros debido al alto costo de reemplazar los sistemas obsoletos en el edificio. El Distrito ha arrendado un edificio adicional al otro lado de la calle para su Centro Familiar y la oficina de Admisiones, y esto permitiría que todos los servicios se concentren en un solo lugar, optimizando la eficiencia de las operaciones de la oficina central.

El Consejo de Educación del Distrito fue informado sobre este proyecto en una sesión de trabajo en la primavera y considerará más a fondo esta propuesta en su reunión del 11 de agosto de 2025, que se llevará a cabo a las 6 p.m. en el Edificio Administrativo del Distrito, ubicado en 1025 9th Avenue, en Greeley.
