"Hopefully making it to regionals this year. It's been a minute since we've gone to regionals for basketball, so I think it would be a huge step for the team."
What are your goals for this season?
"Improve my game and push some of those younger guys, so they are set up for success."
Who are your role models in your sport or life, and how have they influenced you?
"Coach Gus - My biggest role model has been my soccer coach my freshman through junior year. Coach Gus taught me a lot about, not just soccer, but also life. He taught me to stay driven, humble, and thankful that God continues to bless me with my sports, my team, and my life each and every day."
How do you manage the balance between academics and athletics? What strategies have been most effective for you?
"I feel like I've managed my academics and athletics well. I think that organization is a huge key to success when trying to balance the two. Staying organized, figuring out what and when I need to get things done, and knowing what each day looks like when I wake up has really helped me keep that balance."
How do you handle pressure and maintain mental resilience during high-stakes competition?
"Whenever I am feeling pressured in sports, I always tell myself that I have to play for the guy next to me. Basketball especially has taught me that it can't be a one man show. You have to lean on your teammates and trust that they are going to give everything they've got each and every game. And, I have to do the same for them. As soon as I remember that, all the pressure goes away."
What are your career or college plans after you graduate high school?
"I plan on going to UNC to major in business."
What advice do you have for younger athletes who want to join your sport?
"Find what you're good at and do you. You don't have to have the most points or most playing time on the team to make a big and positive impact. Everyone has a role on the team, and each role matters. find what you need to do in order for the team to succeed and dominate it. Don't be satisfied; stay hungry."
Do you have any funny pre-game rituals or superstitions that you stick to?
"No."
If you were to participate in a talent show unrelated to your sport, what would your act be?
"Probably the saxophone. I haven't played since middle school where you were required to play an instrument. I'm pretty sure I could still play decently though."
