The D6 Difference: Casey Pearson, Communications

The D6 Difference: Casey Pearson, Communications

"Knowing that the work I do contributes to student success gives my job meaning. Working in communications, I feel connected to our larger mission of serving students, families, and our community. No two days are ever the same! Every day brings a new story to share or an important message to communicate. One day I'm designing graphics for a school, the next day I'm covering an event, and by the end of the day, I'm helping send out a district-wide communication. The variety keeps every day interesting and rewarding."

"Knowing that the work I do contributes to student success gives my job meaning. Even working in communications, I feel connected to our larger mission of serving students, families, and our community."

When you think about your experience in our district, what makes you feel proud to work here?

"I am proud to help tell the stories of the incredible things happening across our district. Every day, I get to highlight student achievements, staff accomplishments, and the positive impact our schools have on the community. I love working in such a diverse district as well, in which each student and staff member brings a unique story worth celebrating."

What keeps you feeling connected to and supported by our school community?

"The relationships I have with my colleagues are what keep me feeling connected. My team and I strive to capture and share the stories that make our district special. Through design, photography, video, and communications, I get a front-row seat to the amazing things happening in our schools every day."

What's a fun fact about your job?

"No two days are ever the same! Every day brings a new story to share or an important message to communicate. One day, I'm designing graphics for a school, the next day I'm covering an event, and by the end of the day, I'm helping sound out a district-wide communication. The variety keeps every day interesting and rewarding."

What is one experience with a student or staff member that left a lasting, positive impact on you?

"I love seeing the smiles on our students' and staff members' faces. Whether it's during a classroom activity, a graduation ceremony, a cultural event, or a special celebration, those moments of joy remind me why I love what I do. I've always wanted to be someone who supports others, and I love that my role allows me to do that. Being able to capture and share those experiences through design and storytelling is one of the most rewarding parts of my job."
