Closed Campus Philosophy
The staff at Greeley-Evans Alternative Program believes that during the school day students should be focused on their classes and making progress towards graduation. As a result, the campus at GAP is a closed campus at all times. Students must communicate with front office staff if they need to leave the building during their shift and return. Students must also have permission from an administrator to leave campus, and return at a later time in the same day. Students who leave the building, without communicating, will not be allowed to re-enter the building for the remainder of the school day. All students enrolled at GAP must agree to abide by the closed campus expectation.
Closed Campus Process
Students at Greeley-Evans Alternative Program understand and agree that GAP is a closed campus and are not allowed to leave campus during their shift without permission from a parent/guardian and/or an administrator. If a student leaves without permission during their shift, the student understands that they will not be allowed back on campus for the remainder of the day, and a parent/guardian will be notified. If a student displays a pattern of leaving the campus without permission, they will meet with an administrator to determine further action.
The NEXT program area including student restrooms, as well as the south exit door at GAP, are off limits to GAP students.
